Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response falls significantly short of the minimum length requirement of 150 words, containing only 52 words. Consequently, the task can only be addressed partially. While the student attempts to introduce the graph and mentions a few general trends, such as manufacturing having the highest number of jobs and agriculture experiencing a decline, the information is severely underdeveloped and incomplete. Key features and comparisons among all four sectors (manufacturing, retail, agriculture, and healthcare) are missing or incomplete, preventing a fully developed overview.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text is divided into very brief paragraphs, but the overall organization is disjointed and lacks a clear, logical progression. There is an attempt at an introduction and an overall summary, but the extreme brevity limits the development of cohesive devices. Referencing and linking are minimal, resulting in choppy sentences that do not flow smoothly together. To improve, the student needs to expand the response and use cohesive ties more effectively to link ideas and data points logically across sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and word formation. For example, the student writes "employement jobs" (redundant) and "economy sector" instead of economic sectors. In addition, terms are misformed, such as "Agricultural" instead of agriculture and "experoenced a significant line" instead of experienced a significant decline. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate, meaning it just conveys basic ideas but contains enough errors and awkward collocations to restrict the clarity of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structures attempted are very simple, and sentences frequently contain basic errors in verb forms, articles, and phrasing. For instance, the opening sentence "This line graph show" lacks subject-verb agreement. Furthermore, the sentence "the manufacturing is the most highest number of job" contains a double superlative error and missing pluralisation. Complex sentences are largely absent, and the frequency of basic grammatical slips restricts the range of structures and impacts the accuracy of the overall response.
