Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify two important broad trends: healthcare rises and manufacturing eventually declines. However, the report is incomplete and only partially covers the graph. It gives no clear overview of the relative positions of all four sectors, and the final sentence about retail and agriculture is unfinished. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: healthcare did not have more than 15 million jobs throughout 1960–2020; it rose from about 2 million to 16 million. Manufacturing peaked at around 20 million in 1980 before falling, but this is not quantified. The response also falls short of the required 150 words, leaving too little space to report the key comparisons. Include the main figures and explain how retail and healthcare caught up with manufacturing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and a detail paragraph, and sequencing words such as “Overall” and “firstly” help signal stages. However, progression is limited: the overview mentions only healthcare and manufacturing, while the final paragraph begins “taking rest of the information” but stops before presenting any information. The opening overview is also difficult to follow because it is a sentence fragment, and the colon and spacing around the sector list are awkward. Use complete paragraphs with a clear purpose: introduce the graph, summarise the main comparisons, then describe the trends in a logical order. Finish each point and use linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship between data.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “sectors,” “declined,” “rise” and “jobs,” so the general subject is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make the report less clear. For example, “healthcare region” and “manufacturing field” are imprecise labels; “gain its peak” is not a natural way to describe a trend; and “taking rest of the information under consideration” is unnecessarily awkward. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “constrast,” “cleary,” “feild,” “eventuallu” and “retail.” Use standard sector names and precise trend language, such as “the number of jobs in healthcare rose steadily” and “manufacturing employment peaked.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts a few longer structures, including “Although, area of manufacturing first rise upward…” and “with more than 15 million jobs…,” but these are often incomplete or incorrectly formed. The opening sentence has an awkward noun phrase and missing article, while “Overall, among the four sectors…” is a fragment rather than a complete overview. Verb forms are frequently inaccurate: “has rose,” “first rise,” and “falled” should use appropriate past forms, and the sentence about manufacturing needs a clear subject and clause structure. Punctuation is also inconsistent, including the isolated full stop after “2020.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise complete sentences and consistent past-tense reporting, then check articles, verb forms and punctuation.
