Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the four sectors and report several important patterns: manufacturing peaks in 1980 before declining, while retail and healthcare rise and agriculture falls. However, the overview is not fully accurate or clear: manufacturing is highest in 1960, but healthcare is not the lowest at 2.5 million; agriculture is about 6 million then. Some figures are substantially misreported, especially agriculture at 5.1 million initially and 1 million in 2020, compared with approximately 6 and 2 million. The ending comparison that retail and healthcare are similar in 2020 is relevant, but the response would be stronger with a precise overview and more reliable comparisons across the period.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an opening, an overview, and a longer paragraph describing the sectors, so there is some basic organisation. The main trends can be followed, particularly the rise in healthcare and the decline in agriculture. However, progression is limited: the overview repeats information that is then revisited, and the body moves between sectors without a consistent comparison or clear grouping. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “Moreover” are used, but some do not express a clear contrast or relationship. Organise the details into a logical sequence—for example, compare the rising sectors together, then the declining sectors—and use linking words only where their meaning fits.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “sectors,” “highest,” “gain,” and “falling,” which helps communicate the broad trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “massive gain in jobs,” “it touch the highest,” and “people avoid to work in that field.” Spelling errors, including “Manufaturing,” “beging,” and “similer,” are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Aim for precise trend language such as “rose steadily,” “reached a peak,” and “declined,” and describe what the graph shows rather than infer why people work in a sector.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, grammatical errors are frequent, particularly in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and agreement. For example, “as graph discribe” lacks a correctly formed clause, while “the healthcare had massive gain” and “it gain over 15 millions” show problems with articles, verb forms, and number agreement. Punctuation and spacing also make some sentences difficult to read, as in “number. On the other hand” and “Manufaturing,Retail.” Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check past-tense forms and singular/plural agreement when describing historical data.
