Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant trends, including healthcare’s rise and agriculture’s decline, and you attempt to compare sectors. However, the account only partially reports the graph and includes important inaccuracies. Healthcare reaches about 16 million by 2020, tying with retail, rather than clearly “cross[ing] the other sectors”; retail rises to about 16 million, not 15 million by 2000, and it continues to grow after 2000 rather than remaining constant. Manufacturing peaks at about 20 million in 1980 and ends near 13 million, not 10.5 million. The overview is also vague and adds unsupported explanations, such as linking healthcare employment to increased health issues and retail growth to technological change. Focus on accurate comparisons and a concise overview of the main patterns.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the sectors, discusses them in separate sections, and ends with a conclusion. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “during the 1960” and “in conclusion” signal movement between points. However, progression is not consistently clear: the opening mixes a time-period description with an unsupported interpretation, and the sector paragraphs do not follow a clear comparative structure. Some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “cross the other sectores it means” and “from the previous states.” The conclusion repeats a general idea rather than summarising the graph’s key contrasts. Grouping the rising sectors together and the declining sector separately, with clear comparisons, would improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “job market,” “increasing,” “fall down,” and “downfall,” so the reader can identify the broad trends you intend to describe. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a graph. Phrases such as “growth of the society,” “mass change in the local market,” and “stop growing” are imprecise, while “customres requirments” does not clearly describe the manufacturing trend. Frequent spelling errors—including “foure,” “sectore,” “consistant,” and “furthor”—also make the report harder to read. Build a reliable set of trend verbs and comparison phrases, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, but control is inconsistent, and errors often make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “Healthcare job market growthe was consistently increasing and crose the other sectores” lacks accurate verb forms and a clear grammatical connection between clauses. In “during the 1960, to 1980 is fall down rapidly,” the tense and sentence structure are faulty; “in 2000, this market stop growing and reamine consistant” has similar problems. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, with several sentence fragments or run-on constructions. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use past-tense forms consistently when reporting the historical data.
