Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify all four sectors and report several broad trends: manufacturing peaks around 1980 before declining, agriculture falls, and healthcare rises. However, the overview is unclear and incomplete: “few significants changes” does not capture the substantial shifts, and the final sentence trails off without summarising the main comparison. Some details are inaccurate or imprecise. Manufacturing rises to 20 million by 1980, but the response says it “decreased to 20 millions to approximately 13 millions,” confusing the peak with the decline. Retail reaches about 16 million by 2020, not “every year” at that level. To strengthen the report, give a clear overview and compare the sectors’ endpoints and relative rankings.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to sector-by-sector details and a concluding statement. Sequencing phrases such as “Next,” “After this,” and “Overall” help signal the order of information. However, progression is weakened by repetitive, mechanical transitions and unclear links between ideas. For example, “first sector is that manufacturing industries are high” and “the third sector is argiculture from the graph starting it has high” make the relationships difficult to follow. The conclusion is unfinished (“but all are”), so it does not provide a coherent ending. Organise the body around clear comparisons or trends, use fewer formulaic transitions, and ensure each paragraph develops a complete point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “sector,” “decreased,” “jobs,” and “approximately,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the report difficult to understand. Phrases such as “few significants changes,” “the retail sector is risen,” and “improving their facilites” are inaccurate or unnatural; “argiculture,” “forth,” and “sectos” also contain spelling errors. “High” is too vague for describing a line’s movement or level. Build a more precise set of trend expressions, such as “peaked at,” “declined to,” “rose steadily,” and “remained stable,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can identify the general subject of most sentences. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer constructions. Examples include “the number of jobs … in US between 1960 to 2020,” where articles and prepositions are not controlled, and “the retail sector is risen,” which has an incorrect verb form. The sentence about manufacturing also lacks a clear grammatical relationship between the peak and subsequent fall. There are further issues with agreement and sentence boundaries, including “there are few … changes” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions and shorter, complete sentences before combining ideas with clauses.
