Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several important trends: manufacturing is highest initially and then declines, while healthcare rises and finishes level with retail. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear. Agriculture falls to about 2 million jobs by 2020, not “1,” and it does not have more jobs in 1980 and 2000; it is below retail at both points. The statement that agriculture and retail had the same level “from the inception” also conflicts with your description of agriculture declining. Your overview is only partly clear, and the response omits key comparisons, such as retail’s steady rise and manufacturing’s peak around 1980. Select the main trends accurately and summarise them clearly before giving supporting figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation, with an opening sentence followed by descriptions of the sectors and a concluding statement. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the sectors are not grouped or compared consistently, and the agriculture-and-retail comparison is repeated in contradictory ways. Phrases such as “At the same moment” and “Afterward” do not always show a clear relationship between the information. The conclusion introduces a broad claim about jobs that were “not valueable” without explaining it. Use a clear overview, then organise the details into logical comparisons—for example, rising sectors together and declining sectors together—and use linking expressions only where they accurately signal the relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary includes some relevant terms, such as “increased,” “highest level,” and “manufacturing,” so the reader can recognise the topic and general trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear: “last level of jobs,” “levelig in 3 level,” and “not valueable” are not natural ways to describe the data. Spelling errors such as “improvment” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise trend language and standard collocations, such as “fell to,” “remained stable at,” and “rose steadily.” This will help you report changes and comparisons more clearly without relying repeatedly on “level” and “jobs in millions.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts a few longer sentence forms, but most sentences rely on simple patterns, and frequent errors sometimes make the relationships between ideas difficult to understand. For example, “agriculture and retail was having” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “After sometime agriculture decrease” uses an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “Afterward, there is healthcare job” also has problems with articles and sentence structure. Tense control is inconsistent when describing the historical graph. Practise using the past simple consistently for changes over time, with accurate subjects and verbs—for example, “Agriculture fell, while retail rose.” Then add a few controlled complex sentences to compare trends.
