Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several relevant trends: manufacturing rises before declining, agriculture falls overall, and retail and healthcare grow. The overview also attempts to compare manufacturing with healthcare. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear. Manufacturing is described as increasing “till now,” although it falls after 1980; retail reaches about 16 million in 2020, not 14 million; and healthcare rises from about 2 million in 1960 to 16 million in 2020, rather than from 3 to 14 million. The overview does not clearly state the final ranking, when healthcare catches up with retail, or that manufacturing remains the largest sector in 2020. More precise, consistently accurate comparisons would make the summary more complete and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, an overview, and paragraphs describing the trends. You also use contrast markers such as “However,” “Furthermore,” and “On the other hand” to connect comparisons. Nevertheless, progression is sometimes difficult to follow because the overview shifts between sectors without a clear organising principle, and some links do not accurately express the relationship between ideas. For example, “Overall, however” is an awkward opening, while “In contrast with retail” introduces healthcare even though both sectors rise. Grouping the main increases together and the decline separately, then using clear time references, would make the comparisons easier to follow and reduce repetitive or mechanical linking.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “decreasing,” “rapidly,” and “occupied,” and the reader can generally identify which sectors you mean. However, the range is limited and several choices are unnatural or imprecise for a graph report. Phrases such as “multiple jobs,” “wealth,” “manufacturing profession,” and “healthcare organization” do not accurately describe the number of jobs in economic sectors. “It is getting growing” and “decreasing very low” also make the trend difficult to interpret. Aim for standard collocations such as “the number of jobs,” “employment in manufacturing,” and “rose steadily” or “fell gradually.” More precise vocabulary would help you report comparisons without relying on vague wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including comparisons introduced by “However” and “In contrast,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction occur repeatedly: “It is gradually increased,” “the healthcare organization was also rapidly goes up,” and “manufacturing profession it is growing” are not grammatically well formed. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and prepositions, as in “from 6 to 14 millions position” and “in 1960 to 1980.” These errors sometimes make the intended time period or trend harder to understand. Practise forming clear past-tense sentences with a subject and verb—for example, “Manufacturing employment rose from 15 million in 1960 to 20 million in 1980”—and check agreement and plural forms.
