Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the four sectors and report several key figures, including manufacturing’s peak of 20 million in 1980 and the later growth of retail and healthcare. However, the response only partly summarises the main features: it lacks a clear overview of the overall patterns and does not consistently compare the sectors. Some details are inaccurate or unclear. Agriculture is reported as falling to 1.5 million in “2026,” whereas the chart ends in 2020 at about 2 million; the final manufacturing figure is given as about 14 million rather than 13 million. The statement that jobs “start decreasing” after 2000 is also confusing because retail and healthcare continue to rise. Group the main trends in a concise overview, then support it with accurate comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: the response begins with an introduction and then moves broadly from 1960 through later years. Time references such as “upto year 1980” and “in year 2000” help the reader follow the chronology. However, the account is presented as one long paragraph, and the progression becomes difficult to track when several sectors and years are combined in the same sentence. For example, the passage from “The jobs in retail and healthcare sector also increase” to “upto this time the numbers of job start decreasing” does not make clear which sectors are decreasing. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and details, and organise comparisons by trend rather than relying mainly on repeated time markers.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “Manufacturing,” “Agriculture,” “job opportunities,” “increase,” and “decreases,” so the reader can generally understand the subject. There is some variation in how trends are described, but the range is limited and several phrases are imprecise or unnatural for a data summary. For instance, “number of jobs for employees varies in every sectors” and “job vacancies” do not express the chart’s information as naturally as “employment” or “the number of jobs.” Repetition of “number of jobs” and “sector” also makes the account less flexible. Aim for precise trend language and accurate collocations, while avoiding general background claims that do not describe the graph.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify the intended trends. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “Every nations have its economy,” “the following line charts shows,” and “manufacturing sector have highest numbers,” where agreement, articles, and singular/plural forms are not controlled. Sentence boundaries and capitalisation are also unreliable, as in “fifteen million. and healthcare sector.” The sentence beginning “although retail and healthcare sectors continues to grow” has an agreement error and is not clearly connected to the preceding point. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and divide complex information into shorter, complete sentences.
