Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify all four sectors and describe the broad directions of change: healthcare and retail rise, agriculture declines, and manufacturing peaks before falling. These are relevant main features. However, several details are inaccurate or too vague to give a reliable summary. Healthcare is reported as rising from 0 to 5 and then to 15, whereas the chart shows about 2 jobs in 1960 and 16 in 2020; retail also rises to about 16 rather than simply becoming stable. The overview says retail remains constant, which conflicts with the later claim that it rises regularly. Agriculture’s decline is mentioned without figures, and there is no clear comparison of the sectors’ final levels. More accurate figures and a consistent overview would make the key features clearer and more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic structure, with an opening, an overview and two detail paragraphs, and it groups trends by sector. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is limited because the same broad trends are repeated rather than developed through a clear comparison of periods or values. Linking phrases such as “In genral,” “However,” and “after some time” are repetitive or imprecise, and the overview’s claim that retail becomes constant conflicts with the later statement that it continues to rise. The final paragraph also moves between sectors without a clear organising principle. Grouping the data into rising sectors, declining sectors and the manufacturing peak would create a more logical progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “increased,” “decreasing,” “stable,” and “falls,” so the main trends can generally be understood. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a graph. “The figure of jobs” and “financial system” do not precisely describe the number of jobs in economic sectors, while “the data provide complete detail of numbers” adds little useful information. Spelling errors such as “genral,” “increace,” and “specfic” are noticeable, and repeated use of “data” and “time” makes the account less precise. Use standard trend language and accurate sector terminology to express changes more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “However,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic sentence forms, for example “The line graph illustrate” and “the healthcare going up,” where subject–verb agreement and verb forms are faulty. Several sentences lack a complete or well-formed structure, such as “Agriculture sectors decreasing the data with time” and “then stable for sometime the go up regularly.” Tense and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, and missing spaces or punctuation make some passages harder to follow. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then use past-tense verbs consistently to report the chart’s changes.
