Student answer (Band 5.5)
In developed city which has every opportunity and basic need for day to day life have problem in built a apartment or not enough land to provided homes for public. Some people argue that the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks.I largely agree with this view because it saves land and provides accommodation for a large number of people.
Firstly, recent year data show many countryside move to city for better opportunity for better future but problem of housing has been the biggest in every city. But with tall/large building can solve problem with space in scarcity of land in city. Also provide apartment for families. For example, a single apartment building can provide homes for hundreds of people without requiring a large area of land.
Secondly, tall buildings help make better use of limited land. In large cities, land is often expensive and difficult to find. Building individual houses requires more space, which can create problems for future development. However, apartment blocks use vertical space and leave more land available for roads, parks, schools and hospitals. This can help improve the overall development of urban areas.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that building tall apartment blocks is the best solution to provide enough housing in large cities. This is because they can accommodate more people, save valuable land and support better urban planning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you largely agree that tall apartment blocks can provide housing, and you give relevant reasons about saving land and accommodating many residents. The example of one building housing hundreds of people supports your first point, while the discussion of space for parks and services adds a related benefit. However, the response is under the required minimum: it contains 216 words, 34 short, and 16 words copied from the prompt were not counted. The ideas are also brief, especially the point about migration to cities, which is introduced but not explained with evidence or a specific example. Develop each reason further and consider acknowledging a limitation before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and the opening body paragraph’s ideas do not connect smoothly: the contrast beginning “But with tall/large building” follows the point about people moving to cities without a clear grammatical or logical link. The slash in “tall/large” also interrupts the flow. Use clearer links between cause and solution, and develop transitions within paragraphs so the argument progresses naturally rather than relying mainly on paragraph signposts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “accommodation,” “limited land,” “vertical space,” and “urban planning.” These choices help communicate the main argument, and the response includes some variation rather than repeating “homes” throughout. However, the range is limited in places, and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, such as “recent year data,” “many countryside move to city,” and “space in scarcity of land.” “Tall/large building” is also imprecise and inconsistent. Aim for more accurate topic-specific phrasing and check word forms and collocations. For example, describe people moving from rural areas to cities and refer consistently to high-rise apartment buildings; this would make your meaning clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “However.” Most of the main ideas remain understandable, but errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms are frequent enough to make some passages awkward. For example, “In developed city which has every opportunity … have problem” lacks a clear, correctly formed main clause, while “many countryside move to city” has problems with number, articles, and verb agreement. The fragment “Also provide apartment for families” also needs a subject and a complete verb structure. Practise building complete sentences with accurate articles, plurals, and subject–verb agreement, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
