Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is widely believed that enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartments blocks
In recent years, demand for housing has increased day by day due to rapid population growth. Some people believe that apartment buildings is the best solution to this problem .
I am strongly agree with this statement because high rise people and use limited land smartly .however other housing options should be considered.
Firstly ,tall building apartments is a suitable way to provide accomodation for large number of people .In many cities land is expensive and limited .Therefore high-rise buildings allows developers to provide more homes in relatively small area. For examples, in Lahore apartment building can accomodate many family without requiring large area of land .It also reduce shortage of housing and make easiest use of urban life.
Secondly apartment building provide many activities under one roof .These may include parks , gyms, hospitals ,shopping ,security system and many more .
However , I do not believe tall apartments is only suitable way for living peaceful life .Some people really need privacy from pack areas they want to live alone from outdoor space .Apartment building also create problems for people like parking , water supplies , lack of green space .Therefore government should take step to improve living standards according to their lifestyles in societies or tall building apartments.
In conclusion ,I strongly agreed that build tall apartment blocks is better than others because its safe us from expenses and gives us good standard living style .It also suits on those which is alone . Its an effective way to address housing shortages in large cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly support tall apartment blocks, while acknowledging that they are not suitable for everyone. You address the main issue with relevant reasons, including limited urban land, housing shortages, and shared facilities, and the Lahore example helps make the argument concrete. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the list of facilities does not show how these features make high-rise housing the best way to provide enough homes, and the concerns about privacy, parking, water, and green space are not fully weighed against your position. Develop these points with specific explanations or examples, and clarify your final recommendation about how government should respond.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, a paragraph acknowledging drawbacks, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some links feel mechanical. The second supporting paragraph lists facilities but does not connect them clearly to the central claim about providing enough homes. The final sentence about who the approach “suits” is also difficult to relate to the preceding points. Use clearer topic sentences and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main idea; make references such as “It” and “these” unambiguous.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “rapid population growth,” “high-rise buildings,” “housing shortage,” “privacy,” and “green space.” These choices show an attempt to discuss urban housing beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited in places, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “high rise people,” “make easiest use of urban life,” and “suits on those which is alone.” Spelling errors such as “accomodation” and “accomodate” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases, for example, “accommodate many families” and “make efficient use of urban land,” and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors make individual sentences difficult to understand. Examples include “I am strongly agree,” “apartment buildings is,” and “high-rise buildings allows,” where verb forms or subject–verb agreement are incorrect. Articles and plurals also need attention, as in “for large number of people” and “many family.” Punctuation and spacing around sentence openings are inconsistent. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly matched verb, then review articles and plural nouns; this will make your ideas easier to follow.
