Student answer (Band 5.5)
NOWADAYS THE POPUCATION HAS INCREASING IN ALL OVER THE COUNTRIES AND IT IS VERY CONSURNABLE THING IS TO CONSTRUCTING TALL APARTMENT BLOCK FOR ACCOMMODATION RATHER THAN TO BUILT SINGLE APARTMENT BUILDINGS. FROM MY PERSPECTIVE I BELIEVE THAT CONSTRUCTING TALL APARTMENT BLOCKS FOR ACCOMMODATION IS MORE REQUIRED.
IT IS CLEAR THAT NUMBER OF INCREASING POPULATION ARE PRODUCING MORE CHALLENGES TOWARDS THE DEVELOPMENT OF CITIES. BECAUSE, POPULATION RISE IN VERY DRAMATICALLY WAY NOWADAYS AND IT CAUSE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COUNTRY SO BUILTING TALL APARTMENT BLOCKS IS NECESSARY. FOR EXAMPLE, IN A CITY WITH HIGH POPULATION LIVE. SO MAKING TALL APARTMENT IS REQUIRE TO BUILT IN CITY FOR GOOD CONNECTIVITY OF ROAD AND FACILITIES WHICH CONSIST HEALTH, EDUCATION, SAFETY AND POLLUTION. THEIR FOR DEVELOPMENT NEEDS MORE SPACE FOR GIVING HIGH FACILITIES TOWARDS THE PEOPLE OF A CITY.
HOWEVER, IN TALL APARTMENT BLOCKS, PEOPLE PRODUCE LESS POLLUTION TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT. AND IT ALSO VERY USEFUL FOR UTILISING SPACE OF A CITY. BECAUSE TALL APARTMENT INCREASE THE POPULATION IN ONE FRAME STRUCTURE. FOR EXAMPLE, A 10 FLOOR BUILDING APARTMENT BLOCK CONSIST OF 30 ACCOMMODATION WHERE MORE THAN 150 PEOPLE LIVE AND 30 ACCOMMODATIONS LIVE IN SINGLE APARTMENT BUILDINGS OF EACH CONTANING SINGLE BULDING. SO TALL APARTMENT BLOCKS PEOPLE GENERASTE LOW AMOUNT OF POLLUTION THEN THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IS EACH BUILDINGS.
IN CONCLUSION, FROM MY PERSPECTIVE I BELIEVE THAT CONSTRUCTIONG TALL APARTMENT IS BEST FOR CITIES BECAUSE APARMENTS HELP TO INTRODUCE NEW FACILITIES TO THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN CITIES AND ALSO REDUCE THE POLLUTION IN THE ENVIRONMENT.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a clear position in favour of tall apartment blocks, and your reasons—using urban space efficiently and accommodating more residents—are relevant to the question. The example of a ten-floor building also attempts to support your argument with a concrete comparison. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: the claim that high-rise housing improves road connectivity and provides health, education and safety facilities is asserted rather than explained, and the comparison with single buildings is difficult to follow. The environmental point is repeated in the conclusion but not convincingly demonstrated. To strengthen the response, explain how high-rise construction provides more homes than alternatives and develop each example with a clear, accurate comparison or consequence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can identify your overall position. You also use basic signposting such as “For example,” “However” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within the paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from population growth to city development, facilities and space without showing how each point connects. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, as in “Because” beginning a sentence after a full stop and “Their for” introducing a conclusion. The comparison in the second body paragraph is especially hard to follow. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence, using references and connectors that clearly show the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “population,” “apartment blocks,” “accommodation,” “facilities” and “pollution,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make parts of the argument difficult to understand. Phrases such as “very consurnable thing,” “population rise in very dramatically way” and “increase the population in one frame structure” are not natural or precise. Spelling errors, including “popucation,” “bulding” and “generaste,” also reduce clarity. Aim to learn common housing and urban-development collocations, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise terms for density, land use and infrastructure would help you explain your ideas without repeating “tall apartment” and “people.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons and examples, but the range of structures is limited, and errors are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “the number of increasing population are producing” has problems with noun phrasing and subject–verb agreement, while “it cause the development” uses an incorrect verb form. Articles and sentence construction are also unreliable, as in “in a city with high population live” and “a 10 floor building apartment block consist of 30 accommodation.” Several fragments and punctuation choices interrupt the flow, including “Because, population rise…” after a full stop. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then combine them with correctly formed clauses using “because,” “which” and “while.”
