Student answer (Band 5.5)
We live in a contemporary epoch where homes in cities plays a vital role. The good way to provide alot homes in big cities is to build tall buildings blocks. I agree with this notion.
From my perspective, build large apartment blocks provides significant affect on number of homes because a lot of students from village need to travel for thier higher studies in universities of big cities. By making apartments tall, we can remove difficulties for students about hostels and safe homes. Furthermore, job holders have also difficulties in finding apartments for their family members in big cities. This problem can also be solved by making more apartment blocks. This can save the costs of fuel of job holders because they had need to travel from village to city for their duties.
Additionally, for visitors, thats a huge problem to book a room in hotels because in larger cities always no space for others due to less rooms and apartments, always rooms and apartments are filled with visitors especially in Murree. That can also be solved if apartments are becoming more taller for apartments. Finally, it has another significant advantage is that people have a chance to save money instead of spending it into a fuel costs because while travelling they had wasted more money and if apartments are near to their work places they can save money accurately.
Taller apartments has one disadvantage which is that while earthquake, its a danger for people who are in the lower side of apartments also for those whose are in upper side because taller buildings mostly ruined in that situation.
In conclusion, making apartments taller creates a benefits for students and job holders to find homes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the introduction: you agree that tall apartment blocks can help provide homes. You give relevant reasons involving students, workers and visitors, and you acknowledge earthquake risk. However, the response only partly develops the question of whether this is the best way to provide enough homes. The visitor and hotel point is less directly connected to long-term housing, and the earthquake disadvantage is mentioned but not weighed against your support for the proposal. Some claims, such as workers saving fuel by living near work, need clearer explanation and a specific example. To strengthen the response, explain why high-rise construction is preferable to alternatives and develop each main reason with a concrete illustration before reaching a conclusion that reflects the balance of your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, supporting points, a disadvantage and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Furthermore,” “Additionally” and “Finally” help signal additions. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the discussion moves from students and workers to visitors and hotels, then returns to fuel savings, so related points are separated or repeated. The paragraphing also leaves the main supporting ideas crowded together, while the earthquake point is brief and disconnected from the final conclusion. Some links are awkward or unclear, including “That can also be solved” and the repeated references to “apartments.” Group the housing arguments into a focused body paragraph, explain the counterargument in another, and use references that make clear which problem each sentence addresses.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “universities,” “earthquake” and “fuel costs,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main points. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “significant affect on number of homes,” “safe homes,” “apartments are becoming more taller” and “save money accurately.” There are also spelling and form errors such as “alot,” “thier” and “thats.” Aim to learn natural phrases for housing and urban development, and check whether each word fits its context. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish housing supply, accommodation for visitors and commuting costs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using clauses with “because” and “if,” as well as additions such as “Furthermore.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. For example, “homes in cities plays” has subject–verb disagreement, while “From my perspective, build large apartment blocks provides” uses an incorrect verb form. “Taller apartments has one disadvantage” also shows agreement problems, and “its a danger” needs a possessive form. Some sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical links. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time; carefully check subject–verb agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries during revision.
