Student answer (Band 5.0)
The best method to provide enough shelter in big cities is to stablish tall apartment blocks. I completely agree with this statement because an increasing number of people migrate towards to cities to lead a good life and, popularity is growing rapidly.
First and foremost, For better infrastructure and workeforce, people moving from villages to cities for leading a better life. citiy has better oportunities for education and hospitalties facilities. As a result, city become more bustling and lively. Therefore, there need tall apartments blocks that people can stay. For instance, In bangladesh, Dhaka city has large number of people living there, so there are need tall buldings that people can stay there. Because it is the best way to provide homes. If people use small blocks apartment, there would be more buildings but there might not have enough places to stay. For example, In dhaka, owners stablishing more tall apartment so that they can provide large shelter so individuals have place to stay.
On the other hand, population is growing rapidly and the best way to provide living spaces is to constracting large buldings because it takes less spaces and provide more shelter to stay. For example, In japan, Tokyo large number of people staying in cities to provide shelter the owners building tall apartment. Consequently, They can earn more money and people have spaces to live.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that people building tall aprtments is the best option as population is growing rapidly and people moving towards to city.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you completely agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, and you give relevant reasons about urban migration and using less land. The examples of Dhaka and Tokyo also connect to the topic. However, the reasons are mostly asserted rather than explained in depth. For instance, you say that small apartment blocks would mean “more buildings” but do not clarify the land-use or planning consequences, and the Tokyo example does not provide specific supporting detail. The response therefore addresses the question but develops its ideas only partially. To strengthen it, explain how high-rise housing increases capacity and consider a limitation or alternative, then support each point with a precise example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “First and foremost,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the second body paragraph repeats the point that tall buildings provide more shelter, while “On the other hand” suggests a contrast that does not follow. Several sentences are also difficult to connect, such as the shift from city opportunities to the need for tall apartments. Repeated references to “people” and “provide shelter” make the links mechanical. Group each paragraph around one distinct reason and use linking phrases that accurately show whether you are adding, contrasting or explaining an idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “infrastructure,” “opportunities,” “population” and “apartment blocks,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning unclear. Examples include “stablish” for “establish,” “workeforce,” “hospitalties facilities,” and “people migrate towards to cities.” “Large shelter” is also not a natural way to describe housing capacity. Spelling errors such as “buldings,” “constracting” and “aprtments” are noticeable. Build a more accurate set of housing and urban-planning expressions, and check spelling and collocations carefully; for example, use “construct high-rise buildings” and “accommodate a growing population.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use basic cause-and-effect structures, such as “As a result” and “Therefore,” but sentence patterns are limited and errors occur frequently. These include missing or incorrect articles and agreement (“city become more bustling”), faulty verb forms (“people moving from villages”), and incomplete or awkward clauses (“there need tall apartments blocks that people can stay”). The opening also has an unclear construction: “an increasing number of people migrate towards to cities to lead a good life and, popularity is growing rapidly.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including sentence starts such as “citiy” and “In bangladesh.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “which” and “so that.”
