Student answer (Band 5.0)
In most large cities there is concern about having homes to provide for people because even a poorest of person needs a shelter and home to live, to adress this concern many people argue best way is to construct tall apartment blocks. To a large extent i agree with this view point although serious attention should be given to construct these tall apartment blocks with best construction measures to make sure apartments are constructed according to safety rules because a taller a apartment is more complex it gets regarding construction safety. If apartment blocks follow the safety measures necessary for tall apartments it actually is can be best way to provide enough homes in large cities. Because large cities have large population and many large cities have a problem reagarding enough home for population that is increasing day by day. For exampe Karachi is the largest city not just in sindh but one of the largest all over in pakistan and because of this and for the reason that city has the most oppurtunities in every sector weather regarding work or oppurtunities in eduaction, people not just all over in pakistan come to this city to live and growing population in city raises concern for having enough homes in a city for people to live. In most areas of karachi you can see this method of providing houses for people; many colonies are housing project are focusing more and more to build tall apartments blocks in this way they are able to build many apartments that can be rented to people for home even in small areas, colonies and hosuing projects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You take a clear position, saying you agree “to a large extent,” and your main reason—that tall blocks can accommodate many households on limited urban land—is relevant to the question. The Karachi example also gives the response a concrete local context, including population growth and housing projects. However, the discussion focuses almost entirely on why apartment blocks can provide homes; the safety qualification is introduced but not developed with a specific explanation or example. The response would be more complete if it explained the limits of this approach or compared it with another housing solution, then supported that point. Your position is clear, but some ideas are less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a discernible progression from the housing problem, to your position and safety condition, and then to Karachi as an example. However, it is presented as one long paragraph, so the main points and example are not clearly separated. Several ideas are joined into extended sentences, and transitions such as “because” and “and because of this” are repeated, making the relationships between claims feel mechanical. The final sentence adds detail about housing projects but does not provide a clear concluding statement. Use separate paragraphs for your position and reasons, the example, and a brief conclusion; vary linking expressions and make each sentence develop one main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “population,” “construction safety,” and “housing projects,” so the central meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “homes to provide for people” and “enough home for population” are awkward, while “opportunities” is repeated in the Karachi example. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “adress,” “reagarding,” “exampe,” and “eduaction,” which reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim for more precise housing-related expressions and check spelling carefully; this would make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea about safety: “If apartment blocks follow the safety measures…” This shows some range, and the main argument can usually be understood. However, several sentences contain errors in sentence structure, articles, agreement, and verb forms. For instance, “even a poorest of person” has an incorrect article and noun phrase, and “it actually is can be” combines incompatible verb forms. The opening and Karachi example also run on through multiple clauses without reliable punctuation, making the relationships harder to follow. Build complex sentences around one clear main clause, check subject–verb agreement and articles, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
