Student answer (Band 5.5)

The most commun solution for home problems in croweded cities is to build tall apartement blocks. I both agree and disagree with this assertion , because it can be a great solution but it cannot solve the issue once and for all .

To start , tall buildings can afford a large number of appartements to the public ,

which it will solve homing problem , for exemple, newyork city is considered one of the largest and most crowded places in america but renting a home there is a delimma , whether , its high price or its availaibility .Therfore , the american goverenment thought to build tours and tall blocks . It helped to solve that problem temporary but with the increase of immigrans , new york city still suffer from homing issue .

So constructing tall blocks is not a long term solution , for that , we can suggest more suitable ways to concure that issue . First , we start we immigration problem ,pepole tend to relocate to larger and bigger cities for jobs and better lives .That's why it's hight time for governement to begin investing in small towns and villages , by creating entertainment places for kids and adults such as parks , cinemas ...etc .Also increasing healthcare quality by building hospitals and daycares.Schools and universities are crucial too , so students and puple don't have to take long rides to get to their room courses. However , its is not enough to just build entertainenment , health and educational places to solve such problem , because immigrants's main reason to move to a large city is to seak for jobs . Therefore , the government should afford an equality of job investements for large cities and the rest of the country . For exemple ,we can create entreprises and factories , or even create an online jobsfor individuals who live in far areas.

To sum up , building tall apartement blocks is a temporary solution for a long term problem, that's why we must consider other reasonable and accurant solution like innovating other cities with all what an individual is looking for .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you partly agree that tall apartment blocks help, but argue they are only a temporary measure. You support this with the example of New York and propose investment in smaller towns, including services and employment, so the response addresses the question and gives relevant reasons. However, the New York example is asserted rather than explained in detail, and the claim that towers helped only temporarily is not fully demonstrated. The alternative measures receive more attention than the limits of high-rise housing, so the two sides are not equally developed. To strengthen the response, explain more specifically why apartment blocks cannot meet long-term housing needs and connect each example directly to your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on the benefits and limits of tall buildings, a longer paragraph proposing alternatives, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “To start,” “Therefore,” and “To sum up” help signal the stages of the argument. However, the progression within the long alternatives paragraph is crowded: services, education, and jobs are introduced in quick succession, making the relationships between points less clear. Some transitions are mechanical or awkward, and punctuation around them is inconsistent. Divide the alternatives into clearer stages and use referencing that makes each connection explicit; this would make the argument easier to follow without relying so heavily on signposting phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to urban development and public policy, including “immigration,” “healthcare quality,” “investing,” and “job investments.” This gives you some range beyond basic everyday language. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable throughout, for example “croweded,” “delimma,” and “accurant.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “solve homing problem,” “afford an equality of job investments,” and “innovating other cities.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less precise, even though the general argument remains understandable. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for housing, employment, and regional development, then use those phrases consistently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple statements and more complex structures, including a contrast with “because” and a conditional-style explanation beginning “However, it is not enough… because…”. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “which it will solve” has an incorrect relative-clause structure, and “new york city still suffer” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “build hospitals and daycares.Schools.” These errors do not usually prevent the reader from following your argument, but they reduce control. Practise accurate relative clauses, agreement, and punctuation, and proofread each sentence for a complete grammatical structure.
