Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, citizens confront substantial obstacles for habitats due to lack of land in urban areas. Government should take step in the establishment of tall apartments. I conceive the opinion that it is beneficial scheme to constructing to multi story apartment flats rather than single story house.

Multi story apartment prevent people from commute to market, shopping center because apartments are near to stores and people can easily access of items for daily uses. Tall apartments are valuable for development of city it can acquire enormous space for the establishment of companies. Numerous household can't afford separated houses for inhabitant, so multi story apartment is affordable for citizens where they can enjoy all facilities, including electricity, drainage system, playground etc at one place. For example, everyday people are travelling from rural area to city for employment but tall apartment flats provide dwelling of employers near to company.

Some people contrary to belief of multi story apartment because they don't want to live in short distance houses. They prefer to live in huge single story houses and want to survive in peaceful and silent environment. They enjoy gardening in front of their houses. People are accommodated in flats confront enormous noise and polluted environment in daily life.

In conclusion, Government should pay attention toward multi story flats that have positive impact on citizen's lives and company's establishment. They can safe for various challenges which they face everyday. But some citizens prefer to live in single story houses for peaceful life rather than tall apartment flats.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support tall apartment buildings as a way to address housing needs, while acknowledging that some people prefer houses. You give relevant reasons, including affordability, access to services, and making space for companies, and the example of workers travelling to cities helps connect housing to employment. However, these points are not developed equally. The claim that apartments prevent commuting to shops is not fully explained, and the example about employers living near companies is unclear. The opposing view mentions quiet surroundings and gardening, but you do not explain how this affects your overall judgement. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or specific example, and make the conclusion’s position more decisive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, supporting points, a paragraph presenting an opposing view, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through your argument. Paragraphing is generally appropriate, and phrases such as “For example” and “In conclusion” signal the purpose of sections. However, connections between some ideas are abrupt or unclear. For instance, the move from apartments being near shops to their creating space for companies needs a clearer link, and “Some people contrary to belief” does not clearly introduce the contrast. References such as “They can safe” are also difficult to follow. Use more precise linking expressions and ensure each paragraph develops one central point in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “urban areas,” “multi story apartment,” “affordable,” “drainage system,” and “polluted environment.” These choices show an effort to discuss housing and city development beyond very basic terms. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes your meaning unclear. Examples include “obstacles for habitats,” “establishment of tall apartments,” “separated houses,” and “survive in peaceful and silent environment.” There are also inconsistent forms such as “multi story” and “multi story apartment flats.” Aim to learn common housing collocations and choose words that express your intended meaning precisely. More natural phrasing would make your ideas easier to understand and strengthen the overall argument.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because they don’t want to live…” and a relative clause in “flats that have positive impact…”. The main ideas are usually understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “Government should take step” needs an article and plural agreement, while “people can easily access of items” has an incorrect grammatical pattern. In “Numerous household can’t afford,” the noun and verb forms do not agree, and “They can safe” does not form a correct clause. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, prepositions after verbs, and sentence boundaries. Building accurate sentences before adding complexity will improve clarity.
