Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, population are so increased daily every person needs personal homes in the society. the best way to give enough homes in big cities is to build tall apartment blocks. i strongly believe that tall apartment is really crucial for humans.

On the one hand, many people believe that tall apartment is important for human beigns because day by day population were increased rapidly and city areas were conjusted also city planners give a advice built a large appartment and many people liveing in the apartment for example in the karachi many people come to find work and enjoy there life this is a reason city planneres make a plan and built a large appartments also i am really happy for this plan because everyone need a private life.

On the other hand, many individuals argue that tall apartments is less safer for people any mistake building distroy and people under the building after that it is not good for human life For example in the USA 911 is really bad day for human history three aeroplanes line by line hit a large building and building was distroy in the 15 minutes many people under the building approximatelly three thousand above people under the appartmenrt also famiy members depressed a long time this is a main cause it is really serious issue to create big apartment.

In conclusion, large building is very important for every person everyone need privacy and best place also enjoy their life with family members. whereas some time big building create a big diffculty for human beign but i strongly agree with that large building it is really important for populated cites.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall position: you strongly support tall apartment blocks, and the conclusion repeats this view. The response also presents a relevant benefit—accommodating a growing urban population—and a concern about safety, so it addresses both sides of the issue. However, the support is limited and sometimes unclear. The Karachi example is linked to people seeking work, but it does not explain how high-rise housing provides enough homes or why it is the best approach. The 9/11 example illustrates danger, but the connection to ordinary apartment construction is not explained. Develop each point with a direct explanation and a more suitable example, and clarify why you consider this the best solution rather than simply an important one.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the main direction of the argument understandable. However, progression within the paragraphs is less controlled: several ideas are joined into long strings, particularly in the first body paragraph, and the example and explanation are not clearly separated. Some linking is mechanical, and the shift from the safety concern back to support in the conclusion could be more carefully signposted. Use shorter, clearly focused sentences and organise each body paragraph around one claim, followed by an explanation and relevant evidence. Clearer referencing would also help readers follow which buildings or people are being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “population,” “city planners,” “private life,” and “serious issue,” and you attempt to discuss urban growth and building safety. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “population are so increased” and “city areas were conjusted” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “people under the building” is also unclear in context. Spelling errors such as “appartment,” “distroy,” and “approximatelly” further reduce precision. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling, word forms, and collocations so your ideas are expressed clearly and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the response uses basic contrast structures such as “On the one hand” and “whereas.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine several clauses often produce faulty sentences. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in examples such as “population are so increased” and “population were increased”; articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “a advice” and “tall apartments is.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are frequently unclear, especially in the long first body paragraph, which can make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then connect them with controlled subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, tense, articles, and full stops during revision.
