Student answer (Band 6.5)

The significant way to give homes in large cities are multi storage buildings for people who wanted to live in big cities. I agree with this because area of the land is limited in the cities and the prices of land is increases day by day.

Firstly, in the big cities the area is limited to live there as a result builders start constructing multi storage tall buildings for residents. Therefore, people can achieve their aspirations to live in the big cities. For example, in India big cities as like Mumbai, Delhi are the most popular cities for their carrier growth as a result people start shifting to this cities so because of that flats are the best way for option for massive cities.

In everyday the prices for the land is growing rapidly in the day to day life. Due to that it is really hard for people to afford perfect house for themself. In the limited budget and for the nuclear family, Therefore, apartments are the significant way to buy their dream house in their budget. For instance, in USA, people start brought apartments rather then houses because the prices for the past 5 years for the land is start increasing over the period of time as a result people can afford their home in low budget.

In conclusion, The best way to provide homes in massive cities are tall construct tall buildings for apartment blocks. I agree with this statement because the area for the land is limited and hundreds of people can live together at the same roof. However, The pricing for land are rapidly rising day by day.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The ideas are relevant, focusing on land scarcity and affordability. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, and the supporting examples, such as the mention of the USA, are vague and lack specific detail to fully substantiate the argument. While the position is consistent throughout, the explanation of why high-rise living is the 'best' way could be more nuanced by considering potential drawbacks or alternative solutions to provide a more balanced and comprehensive discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Therefore', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'as a result people start shifting to this cities so because of that'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved to sound more natural. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more refined to ensure a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is frequent repetition of basic terms like 'big cities', 'land', and 'prices'. Some word choices are inaccurate, such as 'multi storage' instead of 'multi-storey' and 'carrier growth' instead of 'career growth'. The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the range is limited, and there are noticeable errors in collocation that occasionally hinder the sophistication of the argument. Expanding the range of synonyms and collocations would significantly improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the prices of land is increases') and incorrect preposition usage ('at the same roof'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in capitalization and sentence boundaries. The frequency of these errors is noticeable and occasionally causes the reader to pause, although the overall meaning remains clear. A greater focus on sentence variety and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is needed.
