Student answer (Band 7.0)
Metropolitian cities have been experiencing overpopulation for some last decades. It's been observed that it's a struggle to find an appropriate housing corner in big, crowded cities. The real estate industry is keen to find a suitable solution that can accomodate the growing population comfortably and one of the most appreciated idea is to build tall apartment blocks.
I believe high-rise buildings are a good way to offer enough number of houses to the public. Most of the land in the big cities are already equipped and the price to buy a land and build a home isn't affordable for everyone. In my opinion, owning a house is a dream of many people but in this economy, only the elites can afford to have one. Thus, for the middle class population, apartment blocks are generally lower in cost and if the building is equipped with basic amenties, it can be a great place to live in.
It's undoubtedley one of the most appropriate way to build enough homes in the city. The prices of such apartments blocks should be based on facilities, location, transportation, and accessibility to basic necessity the building has to offer so that any body can sell and purchase according to their budget. I also believe that tall buildings contributes to the overall infrastructure of the city. Instead of living in a cramped house in the street, it's better to have an apartment in a high-rise building which is likely to have better air quality and scenic views of the city.
However, some people disagree with the idea of tall apartment blocks. As per their views, apartments leads to an even increased cost, nearly no social interactions, less outdoor spaces, and heavy reliance on elevators. I find their perspective needs to be expanded. Yes, there are certain cons associated with apartments but it also solves one of the biggest problem of the public that's to own a house. Any dismerit isn't bigger than the advantage tall apartment blocks offers.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. It is not only progressive for the city's development but also solves the accomodation problem in the city.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments regarding affordability, infrastructure, and quality of life. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed; for instance, the mention of 'social interactions' in the counter-argument could have been explored with more depth. The conclusion effectively reinforces your stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that every point is supported by a specific example or a more detailed explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims, rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Thus', 'However', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be more fluid. Referencing is generally clear, but ensure that pronouns consistently refer back to the intended nouns to avoid any ambiguity in your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'overpopulation', 'infrastructure', and 'accessibility'. There are some spelling errors ('Metropolitian', 'accomodate', 'undoubtedley', 'amenties') and minor collocation issues ('appreciated idea' instead of 'popular solution'). While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, you need to use a wider range of less common lexical items with more precision to move into the higher bands. Focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('apartments leads', 'tall buildings contributes') and article usage errors ('the price to buy a land'). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not impede overall communication. To improve, focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and the correct use of countable and uncountable nouns, as these are recurring patterns in your writing.
