Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern era, numerous type of buildings can be seen in the every part of the world. It is often argued that in cities, there is a construction of tall apartment blocks in order to provide enough homes.I partially agree with this view point and i will explain it in the upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, it is beneficial for the metropolitian cities where lots of people live. To be more precise, tall buildings contains less space due t it people live together and with love also do not harm the natural things like cut trees for the manufacturing of homes where they can live. For instance, a survey was conducted and showed that in japan there is a plenty of tall buildings and in that place most of the people live in a very less space. As a result, it tall buildings are very crucial in this way.

On the other hand, the construction of tall buildings is not only way to render plenty of housing place because due to natural climatic condition. To be explicated it, tall buildings are dangerous if there is any floody condition occurs and the can easily fell off due to its height. Moreover, it cause the damage of properties and also to the humans. Thus, buildings can be made only from good materials and in a way that can be prevent natural disasters.

To conclude, no doubt tall buildings are better method to provide space to live but it should be designed in that manner which is never harm by any natural disasters.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a partial agreement, but the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the benefits of space-saving and the risks of natural disasters, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. For instance, the reference to Japan is vague and does not clearly explain how tall buildings specifically solve housing shortages compared to other methods. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and clearer examples. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To be explicated it' or 'due t it'. Some transitions feel forced, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disrupted by grammatical errors. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the connection between ideas. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus that transitions smoothly into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good materials' and 'natural things', which are imprecise. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'floody condition' instead of 'flooding' or 'render plenty of housing place'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary limits the score. Try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to urban planning and construction to enhance your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'tall buildings contains'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'it tall buildings are very crucial'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
