Student answer (Band 5.5)
The shortages of homes have become a major problem in many cities, the reasons behind this issue is growing population and Urbanization. Many people believe that construct high-rising buildings fairly can sort this problem. I strongly agree with this argument because tall buildings can well managed the population as compare to single story houses.
One of the main advantage of tall apartment is to manage maximum population in small area, in addition, it should be budget friendly for government and residents too, because authorities can easily manage the facilities like transportation, healthcare center, schools, parks etc. Moreover, large agriculture land will be save due to large building construct.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 123 words. Consequently, the ideas are significantly underdeveloped. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the body paragraphs lack the necessary depth, examples, and logical extension required for a full essay. The response also ends abruptly mid-sentence, meaning the conclusion is missing and the argument is incomplete. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure you complete the full structure of an essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, using transition signals like 'One of the main advantage' and 'Moreover'. However, the abrupt ending and the lack of a conclusion disrupt the overall flow. Paragraphing is present, but the development within those paragraphs is too brief to demonstrate effective cohesion. The referencing is generally clear, but the mechanical nature of the linking words limits the score. To improve, focus on developing each paragraph fully and ensuring a clear, logical progression from introduction to conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision expected for higher bands. There are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'construct high-rising buildings' (should be 'constructing high-rise buildings') and 'large agriculture land will be save' (should be 'saved'). You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure correct word forms are used throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the reasons behind this issue is' (subject-verb agreement error), 'can well managed' (incorrect verb form), and 'tall buildings can creates' (subject-verb agreement error). There is a limited range of sentence structures, and the incomplete final sentence further highlights a lack of control. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement, correct verb tense usage, and ensuring that all sentences are complete and grammatically sound.
