Student answer (Band 6.5)

In this modern era, the best way to contribute houses in metropolitan cities is to construct tall apartment buildings. I partially agree with this given statement because tall apartments are cheaply and provide more homes with the less space. However, there are so many other ways to provide enough homes.

On the one hand, tall buildings need less construct materials such as concrete, stones and constructed workers as well. In recent years, several infrastructure buildings built to provide basic needs of all families. In addition tall building are often less expensive and maintain well developed society. However there are some drawbacks such as tall building often need to more maintenance, more parking space etc. due to that many neighbour fight with tiny issues.

On the other hand, city has not just depend to provide homes through large buildings, instead of build tall buildings other rich families want to live in open space such as row houses, and bungalows. Even they can live openly with any disturbed of their neighbourhood. Moreover they don't concern about look the parking space due to highly maintenance. In addition, their sorrounding ecosystem are quite and feel likes relax and stress free. Furthermore therefore i partially agree that tall building is just not the only one option to fulfill the requirements of provide enough homes.

In conclusion, both ways have their own merits, poor people can select tall apartments because they are specially cheap and provide basic needs, whereas other house types have special requirements and they are quite expensive but their sorrounding environment are quite and relaxing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified both the benefits of tall buildings and the alternative preference for low-density housing. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'less construct materials' is mentioned but not fully explained or supported with specific examples. The conclusion attempts to summarize, but it introduces a new comparison between 'poor' and 'rich' people that was not fully explored in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that each supporting point is expanded with a clear explanation or a concrete example to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'Furthermore therefore' in the third paragraph. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth transitions, making the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help the essay read more naturally and improve the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'contribute houses' instead of 'provide housing', 'constructed workers' instead of 'construction workers', and 'look the parking space'. Some words are also used incorrectly, such as 'sorrounding' (spelling) and 'quite' instead of 'quiet'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that you use words in their correct context to convey your meaning more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'tall apartments are cheaply' (adverb vs. adjective), 'city has not just depend' (verb tense/form), and 'any disturbed of their neighbourhood' (word form). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To reach a higher band, you should focus on subject-verb agreement, correct word forms, and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
