Student answer (Band 6.0)

The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartments blocks. Many large cities around the world faces problems shortage of houses due to the rapid growth of population. Construct a tall apartment blocks would be useful because a large number of people can living in a same place. I agree with this statement because it is more convenient for urban residents.

One of main advantage of high-rise apartment blocks is saving land property. In cities, to build a house is not a piece of cake. By constructing tall building, thousands of people can living in a same area without occupying more lands. Moreover, living in a city is easy access to facilities such as hospitals, schools and other facilities.

However, simply building tall apartments is not a solution. If these buildings are not supported by adequate infrastructure namy problems faced by local public is traffic congestion and overcrowded scenes. Therefore, government should also invest in health care sector, public transportation and other facilities that benefits for public.

In conclusion, I agree that building a tall apartments is a outstanding way to come out the problem of living. In addition, if job opportunities is also available in small cities then a less number of employees will visit large cities for siling job.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the main arguments regarding land efficiency and infrastructure are relevant, they are under-developed. The conclusion introduces a new, slightly tangential point about job opportunities in small cities, which is not fully integrated into the main argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or detailed explanations to ensure the response is sufficiently long and well-supported.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover,' 'However,' and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'namy problems faced by local public is traffic congestion.' The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between the benefits of tall buildings and the necessity of infrastructure could be smoother. Improving your use of cohesive devices and ensuring they are used accurately will help elevate your score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'urban residents,' 'infrastructure,' and 'traffic congestion.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'saving land property' (instead of 'land conservation' or 'efficient land use'), 'a piece of cake' (which is too informal for an academic essay), and 'siling job' (likely a typo for 'seeking'). To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure your word choices are appropriate for a formal context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Many large cities... faces problems,' 'job opportunities is'), incorrect verb forms ('can living in a same place'), and missing articles ('build a tall apartments'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors suggest a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic sentence construction. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
