Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this time everybody has a dream to live in big cities or in city side. So in big cities there are million of people live here so everyone has a personal house it is not possible because for that there are a lot of space require because of that they build tall apartment blocks rather than build houses. I completely agree with the writer reasons for inclination are articulated in ensuing paragraph.

On one hand, In big cities societies there are a few personal houses and they cover lot of area around that. For example:- if every contractor built societies like this so the different industries or big company building did not exist so they create a big tall apartment so in this apartment lot of people of cities live there and the building also cover small areas compare with societies area.

In addition, there is a very hard to afford a house in big cities. So living in apartment blocks so there are no parking issue in flats there are parking for all vehicals is basement of flats. In apartment we are close with our neighbourhood so in emergency they help to us. In flats all type of age groups people live there so we create good relationship with all.

To sum up, i completely agree with to build tall apartment in big cities. These is a benefitial for cities and people also who had a dream to live in the big cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention land efficiency and social benefits, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The response is also slightly under the required word count (245 words), which impacts the overall development of the task. To improve, ensure you provide more specific examples or detailed explanations for each point, such as discussing the environmental impact or the economic feasibility of high-density housing, to fully meet the requirements of an academic essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In this time' or 'In big cities societies'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between land usage and industrial buildings is unclear. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'big cities' and 'tall apartment blocks' are used frequently without variation. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'city side' instead of 'suburbs' or 'outskirts', and 'vehicals' (spelling error). While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited and does not demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, and focus on correct word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('there are a lot of space require'), article usage ('the different industries'), and awkward phrasing ('there is a very hard to afford'). While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences, and proofread carefully to correct basic errors in tense and pluralization.
