Student answer (Band 5.5)

# In today's rapidly evolving world, the issue of many urban cities has to beiled large apartment blocks, since their are not enough homes are provide has become a matter of considerable public interest, recompting widespread debate regarding its impact on individuals and socity. While some people firmly believe that urban cities are getting more populated, others argue that this is for the people who wants to built their future. I strongly disagree that large cities should not beiled large apartment.

On the one hanel, many individuals believe that urban cities should built the large apartment so, their will be more engagement of company. Hover Moreover their will be development, & in adlition to that many people will come to the large cities. aust so the urban cities should provide more land space and maxim rent so to help goverment can provide more apartment.

On the other hanel, this will be a totally off plan because most of the urban cities will be over populated because of per people are running for their future opportunity. Hover Moreover, rural areas will be eleuser less populated so the goverment should beult more apartment in rural areas and more job opportunity will be their and not all the people will move to urban.

cities for job and nevertheless, their will be no more need of large apartment for that

In conclusion, I firmly maintain that urban cities should not build a large apartment. This is primarily because many people are living in large cities, while rural areas are mostly untouched further reinforces this standpoint. Consequently, embracing this perspective would not only benefit individuals but also contribute to the long-term development and overall well-being of society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to address the prompt but struggles with clarity. While you take a clear position against building tall apartment blocks, the supporting arguments are often confusing or contradictory. For example, the argument in the second paragraph regarding 'engagement of company' and 'maxim rent' is difficult to follow and does not clearly support your stance. The ideas are under-developed, and the reasoning lacks the logical depth required for a higher band. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on one clear, well-explained reason that directly supports your thesis statement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by unclear transitions and repetitive phrasing. You use cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'nevertheless', but they are often used incorrectly or in contexts where they do not fit the flow of the argument. Referencing is also problematic; for instance, 'this will be a totally off plan' is vague and does not clearly link back to the previous point. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence logically follows the previous one is essential for better coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There are numerous spelling errors (e.g., 'beiled' for built, 'socity' for society, 'hanel' for hand, 'eleuser' for unclear) and misused words (e.g., 'recompting' instead of prompting). The range of vocabulary is basic and repetitive, failing to demonstrate the flexibility needed for higher bands. You should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and practicing their usage in context to ensure your meaning is conveyed accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often make sentences difficult to understand. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'their are not enough homes are provide'), sentence structure, and word order. Complex sentence attempts are often faulty, leading to confusion. For example, 'I strongly disagree that large cities should not beiled large apartment' is confusing due to the double negative. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and reducing the frequency of errors to improve clarity.
