Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's fast-paced world, the topic of providing enough housing in urban areas has become increasingly crucial. While many people argue that creating large apartment block are useful way to provide enough space, I completely agree with the view because apartment blocks help living more people in a limited area.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why I partly agree with the statement is that apartment blocks are an effective solution for people because they enable them to accommodate in a small area. Furthermore, incommoding more people in apartment blocks allows the governments to save essential land since the governments can create many industrial building for individuals, which help to improve the employment opportunities in the urban areas. For example, many people living in Dhaka city in the separate apartments, which help people to enhance communication skills and secure the employment opportunities. Consequently, although accommodating in big cities are excessive expensive, I believe that the high employment opportunities are more significant because they can bring many benefits in the long run.
Another primary advantage is that large apartment blocks enable the governments to mitigate the housing shortages in urban areas, which has become increasingly demanding. This is because the high-rise buildings can meet the expectations, which are extremely important in the contemporary world. In addition, the large apartments are cost-effective for governments. This is because the government can provide many facilities, such as advanced public transportation, electricity and well-developed road. Hence, if people live in the limited area in urban areas, they will get more opportunities in the long term.
In conclusion, the topic of creating the massive apartments in large cities has become a matter of great concern. Although accommodating in urban areas are expensive for individuals, I believe that the employment benefits and more opportunities provided by governments are more significant.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'employment opportunities' is mentioned but not clearly linked to the necessity of tall apartment blocks specifically, rather than just urban density in general. The example of Dhaka is relevant but could be better integrated to support the core argument. While the response covers all parts of the task, the reasoning remains somewhat superficial, and the conclusion slightly contradicts the introduction by stating the writer 'partly agrees' when they initially stated they 'completely agree'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. However, some of the cohesive links are mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'the topic of creating the massive apartments... has become a matter of great concern', which does not effectively summarize the preceding argument. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, which makes the progression feel slightly repetitive at times.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'mitigate', 'contemporary', and 'cost-effective'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'accommodate in a small area' (should be 'accommodate people') and 'incommoding more people' (which is a misuse of the word). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the argument. A wider range of topic-specific vocabulary would improve the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'creating large apartment block are useful way' and 'accommodating in big cities are excessive expensive'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning. Punctuation is generally correct, but the control over complex structures is inconsistent, which keeps the score in the mid-range.
