Student answer (Band 5.0)

The good way to provide enough homes in large cities is to make apartment blocks. I agree from this statement. Because in the upcoming years the population increases and there in not enough space in the large city for living, so it is good idea for making tall apartment blocks for living .

it is also good bussiness for a people to giving his houses or apartment on rent and generate incom from this bussiness . This bussiness also gave many jobs opertunity to peoples and also provide enough space to peoples for living .

i have one example regarding this eassy . i studied in a university i know the one person who lived near our university .And this person have also property selling or buying bussiness .They have a enough space near my university hostel two year before, they turing this space into apartment blocks for the residence of university students who have not secure the hostel seat in hostel merit list they lived in this apartment .This is also know the name as a private hostel and some teachers of university also lived in this aparment because the rent is very low .The they also provide also basic facilites to all resident like university hostel. It is a very good bussiness idea for living in a city to generate income .

So, in future i also have same idea if have enough money to buy a piece of land and convert into apartment block , and generate money for good living .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing agreement with the statement. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The focus shifts significantly from the urban planning aspect of 'providing enough homes' to the personal financial benefits of being a landlord. The example provided is anecdotal and lacks a clear connection to the broader issue of city-wide housing solutions. The argument remains superficial, focusing on individual business ventures rather than the societal or architectural implications of tall apartment blocks. To improve, you should explore broader themes such as urban density, infrastructure, and sustainability.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the general argument and the personal example is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and repetitive way, such as the frequent use of 'this business' and 'also'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the subject 'they' is used inconsistently to refer to the person, the business, or the apartment building. The overall structure lacks a clear introduction and conclusion, making the argument difficult to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'incom' instead of 'income', 'opertunity' for 'opportunity', and 'eassy' for 'essay'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying heavily on simple terms like 'good', 'make', and 'living'. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to urban development, such as 'high-density housing', 'urban sprawl', 'infrastructure', or 'sustainable development', and ensure accurate spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'population increases' (when referring to the future) and 'this business also gave'. Punctuation is inconsistent, with many sentences lacking proper structure or containing unnecessary spaces before punctuation marks. The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the errors in basic grammar (articles, prepositions, and verb tenses) are frequent throughout the text.
