Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state a clear position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific, relevant examples. For instance, the second paragraph mentions 'many countries' but fails to provide a concrete example of a city or a specific situation. The ideas are repetitive and lack the depth required for a higher band. To improve, you must expand your arguments with detailed explanations and specific illustrations to ensure the task is fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. There are several instances where sentences are incomplete or lack logical connection, such as the phrase 'Which also contributes to this issue in a meaningful way' starting a new sentence without a clear subject. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as the awkward transition 'Therefore it clear that'. The progression of ideas is hindered by these structural issues, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument consistently.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'good', 'important', and 'issue'. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'examiner the primary factors' (should be 'examine') and 'lasying impact' (spelling error). You attempt to use some academic vocabulary, but it is often used incorrectly or in an unnatural way. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in the correct context, while also avoiding spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'one of the main reason' (should be 'reasons') and 'thise trend is benificial'. Sentence structures are often simple or fragmented, and there is a lack of complex sentence variety. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misplaced commas and periods. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and work on reducing the frequency of errors in basic grammar.
