Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes, I agree with this statement I think this is the better option to construct tall apartment blocks to provide the shelter for needy people. Because with the growing of population, there is so much serious problems to face and provide homes also one of them. To overcome this, government should take basic steps to construct tall apartment blocks in large cities so that, all citizens enjoy equal rights in the country either they are rich or poor.

But some people may also disagree with this statement because everyone has its own opinion. I think on their behalf , building tall apartments also cause of congested places there is no proper ventilation system forests are cutdown to fulfill the requirements that may leads to decline in oxygen level. When oxygen levels falls in country, risk of attack of diseases also increase that may cause severe problems. Another reason of their disagree is vary in noise pollution and also there is no proper sewage system leads to severe land pollution.

So, every image has two basic points if there is some positive impacts also have negative too. But according to my knowledge and experience I think this is the better choice to provide shelters to the citizens of the country. When everyone enjoys equal rights in the country then also discourage of disharmony and they are able to spread positive vibes.

In conclusion, I strongly agree by giving my point of view although have some negative impacts but I think basic human rights are more important then anything else.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention population growth and human rights as arguments for tall buildings, and environmental/infrastructure concerns as counter-arguments, these points lack specific examples or detailed logical progression. The essay tends to over-generalize, such as the claim that tall buildings automatically lead to a decline in oxygen levels or disease outbreaks. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete evidence or real-world examples to support your claims, rather than relying on broad, unsubstantiated assertions. The conclusion restates your position, but the overall depth of the argument remains limited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'So, every image has two basic points' are unnatural and do not effectively link the ideas. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'Another reason of their disagree is vary in noise pollution', where the grammar and logical connection are weak. While there is a progression of ideas, the transitions between paragraphs and within sentences could be smoother and more varied to improve the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic, repetitive phrasing such as 'provide homes', 'basic steps', and 'positive vibes'. There are also instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'risk of attack of diseases' (instead of 'risk of disease outbreaks') and 'discourage of disharmony' (which is grammatically and semantically confusing). To improve, you should focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to urban planning and social issues, while ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('oxygen levels falls'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing ('there is so much serious problems to face'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct grammatical markers.
