First and foremost, high-rise apartment buildings can accommodate a large number of individuals with limited amount of land. In nowadays many large cities are developed with super high-rise apartment for accommodation and for private businesses, because of lack of land. Therefore, they share same land with neighbourhood. For instance, city like Delhi, Dubai, and Mumbai have 25 to 30 stories apartment building with limited space. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of high-rise buildings. However, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly in the conclusion, and it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words. While the main ideas—land efficiency and affordability—are relevant, they are not fully developed. The lack of a complete conclusion and the brevity of the arguments prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed with sufficient depth and that the essay is fully completed within the word limit.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a basic logical progression. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are used to signal the structure. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the abrupt ending significantly disrupts the overall coherence. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'they share same land with neighbourhood'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring a smooth, complete conclusion would enhance the logical flow of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'making tall apartment buildings the best solution to provide enough house' (should be 'housing') and 'accommodate at apartment' (should be 'accommodate in an apartment'). The range is limited, relying on repetitive terms like 'apartment' and 'buildings'. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more precise collocations and a wider range of vocabulary related to urban planning and housing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'In nowadays many large cities are developed' (incorrect preposition/adverb usage), 'government also builded' (incorrect verb form), and 'lover class people' (likely a spelling error for 'lower'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of errors in basic grammar—such as article usage and verb tense—prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage is essential.
