Student answer (Band 6.0)
Currently, many people are shifting towards metropolitan cities, so there is a shortage of houses. People believe that making tall apartment buildings are the best solution to provide enough housing. I completely agree, many individuals can accommodate in an apartment with limited space and at a more affordable cost.
First and foremost, high-rise apartment buildings can accommodate a large number of individuals with a limited amount of land. In modern time, many large cities are developed with super high-rise apartments for accommodation and also for private businesses, because of lack of land. Therefore, they share the same land with neighbourhoods. For instance, city like Delhi, Dubai, and Mumbai have 25 to 30 story apartment buildings. Overall, citizens prefer to live in high-rise apartment more than individuals house, because of insufficient land.
Furthermore, accommodating in an apartments is more affordable than individual houses. Land and construction cost can be shared with many resident of the apartment. However, many middle class families can afford this apartment in metropolitan areas with their low income. For example, government also built tall apartment buildings at Ahmedabad for lover class people at affordable price with house policies. As a result, many general lower and middle class families can live in their own homes in large cities with more facilities.
In conclusion, constructing high-rise apartment buildings are the best solution to provide sufficient homes for people with limited space and offer more amenities at same place and the cost of the apartment is cheaper than single house. State authorities should also support public for providing sufficient homes in large cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. The arguments regarding land efficiency and affordability are relevant and supported by examples such as Delhi, Dubai, and Ahmedabad. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. While the position is clear, the essay would benefit from a more nuanced exploration of the potential drawbacks of high-rise living—such as social isolation or infrastructure strain—to provide a more balanced and sophisticated discussion. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, but the overall depth of analysis remains at a functional level rather than a fully developed one.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Furthermore', and 'As a result' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions between sentences within paragraphs are slightly abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, though some minor improvements in the flow between sentences would elevate the coherence of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at more specific vocabulary, such as 'metropolitan' and 'amenities', but the range is somewhat limited. There are also recurring errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'accommodate in an apartment' (should be 'live in') and 'lover class' (should be 'lower class'). These errors do not impede communication, but they highlight a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('constructing high-rise apartment buildings are') and article usage ('the cost of the apartment is cheaper than single house'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and phrasing issues throughout. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be beneficial.
