Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some phenomena is going on to provide extended homes in metropolitan is to build tall apartments blocks. I agree to a large extent with the statement. My views are explained further in the paragraphs. With relevant example.

Firstly, if industries are decide to build tall apartments then it consume less area and citizens have more change to live in there city. On the other hand, it is also beneficial for businesses to invest there money into it. Furthermore, if this happen then people get more homes for them and some of them are put into rent. Moreover, it is also not deniable that the pollution industries create is not good for are ecosystem and people who living in nearside.

secondly, if there are no limitations for tall building then there are high changes planes and air transportation might get crash with living apartments. Additionally, it is also important for people who living in a top floor and constantly they are hearing noise pollution from air traffic. Moreover, it is highly risky for tax payer who are in a top floor because natural calamity are very common on a days such as earthquake and flood so considering this people also have to understand that tall building is not the only solution. For example, in many hometown they see first there population and then they started building apartments.

In conclusion, i stick with my stance that tall building is a good for citizen to live. But at some point rather then some repercussions have face that i mention above.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a position, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you mention the benefits of tall buildings, such as space efficiency, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific, logical support. For instance, the point about 'pollution industries' is unclear and does not directly relate to the topic of housing. The second paragraph introduces concerns about air traffic and natural disasters, but these points are not fully explored or linked effectively to the central argument. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on one clear idea supported by a concrete example or detailed explanation, rather than listing several loosely connected points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'Moreover', they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately, such as using 'Moreover' to introduce a point that contradicts the previous one. Referencing is also problematic; for example, 'if this happen' and 'people who living in nearside' lack clear antecedents or grammatical clarity. The conclusion is also quite weak and does not effectively summarize the main points or restate the position in a sophisticated way.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'extended homes' instead of 'additional housing', 'there city' instead of 'their city', and 'natural calamity are very common on a days'. These errors occasionally make it difficult for the reader to follow your intended meaning. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct context. Avoid repetitive phrasing and work on improving your grasp of basic collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('Some phenomena is', 'industries are decide'), article usage, and sentence structure ('people who living in nearside'). The sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'if there are no limitations for tall building then there are high changes planes... might get crash'. These persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation significantly affect the clarity of your writing. Focusing on mastering simple, error-free sentences before attempting complex structures would be beneficial.
