Student answer (Band 5.0)
It has been observed that, large cities does not have sufficient places for building homes. Although some people believe to the solution to construct a high rise building in the large cities. I firmly agree with the given statement. My inclination is elaborated in the ensuing paragraph with relevant examples.
The foremost argument to justify my stand is that when the city is over crowded it has land scarcity, which contradicts the solution to build homes. In the consequences, tall apartment block have been introduced so that large number of people can live on the limited amount of land. For instance, metropolitan cities like Singapore and Mumbai rely highly on high rise residential buildings in order to accommodate millions of people while preserving the land. Therefore, it represents a practical and a sustainable solution to housing shortages.
Conversely, many people prefer individual homes because they provide greater safety and privacy. Residents help to make the living more better with the environment with private space which affects the physical and mental well being positively.A clear example that people want attached house in order to maintain the safety of the young children.Hence it enhances the quality of life when you live home.
To conclude the discussion , it can be said that despite the fact of living in an individual home, my reasons people should prefer living in the tall apartments can be the effective solution are logically acceptable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the arguments regarding land scarcity and the benefits of high-rise living are relevant, the counter-argument section is somewhat underdeveloped and lacks a strong rebuttal to fully justify the author's stance. The conclusion is also quite brief and fails to effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure you expand on your points with more detailed explanations and examples to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'The foremost argument,' 'For instance,' and 'Conversely' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final sentence where the phrasing 'my reasons people should prefer' is confusing. Paragraphing is present, but the concluding paragraph is weak and does not effectively summarize the main points or reinforce the thesis statement. Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'make the living more better' and 'attached house,' which hinder the natural flow of the text. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'metropolitan cities' and 'land scarcity,' the overall range is limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and avoiding repetitive or simplistic language. The errors in word choice do not completely impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the quality of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('large cities does not have'), incorrect preposition usage ('believe to the solution'), and awkward sentence construction ('it enhances the quality of life when you live home'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of grammatical slips is noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and refining the use of articles and prepositions to ensure that complex sentences are constructed accurately.
