Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, Constructed seperate home for each family had become a widely discussed issue in many part of the world due to rapis population growth. While some people agree with living in a tall apatment is the most effective way. But I completely disagree with this statement because apartments are too concise for a large families and people dont have access on the land of their home.

The primary reason why i disagree is that , living in a large appartment does not provide you maximun rooms for each family person. You have to adjust in smalls apartments. For instance, if you have 10 individuals in family, than difficult for you to in live in 3 or 4 rooms apartment. Therefore, its also not suilatble for those people who wanna live in open air environment.

Secondly, In tall apartment life will not provide you a land . You have to live your whole life in ready made flats. its very difficult for you even impossible for you, if you wanna reconstruct your flat. Its reduce your neighbour relations as well as you will lose the beauty of nature. For example, living in small flat of the tall apartment , you have not any lawninfront of your home, where you can sit or walk to feel the nature. Its also lead to damage your physcial health.

In Conclusion, living in apartments have some benefits .However its drawbacks are overweigh . I firmly believe that, Home is the place where you can take rest after a hectic routine. So seperate large home for each family will increase the satisfication level and also provide a full privacy for every member of family.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and relies on generalisations. For instance, the argument that apartments cannot accommodate large families is a valid point, but it is not fully explored or supported with nuanced reasoning. The essay touches on the lack of privacy and nature, but these points are repetitive. To improve, you should provide more specific examples or counter-arguments to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the complexities of urban planning, rather than focusing solely on personal preference for detached housing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'While some people agree... But I completely disagree' is grammatically incorrect and creates a disjointed flow. Additionally, some sentences are linked poorly, such as 'Its also lead to damage your physcial health', which lacks a clear connection to the preceding point. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') would significantly enhance the logical progression of your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'concise' (used incorrectly to mean small/cramped), 'access on the land', and 'ready made flats'. Spelling errors are also frequent, including 'seperate', 'rapis', 'apatment', 'suilatble', and 'physcial'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to urban development and housing, and pay closer attention to spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'living in apartments have some benefits'), incorrect article usage, and missing auxiliary verbs (e.g., 'than difficult for you to in live'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
