Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this modern era, some people argue that it is better to provide sufficient homes in a developed cities is to build a tall apartment blocks. I partially agree with this statement that both has it's own uniqueness and validate my opinion.
On the one hand, currently each and every countries are developing people who are financial backward are suffering for perfect shelter and hygiene food. government and several companies plans to build flats because flat are design to reduce the space consumption. Also this will help many homeless individuals who doesn't has enough area or plot to build a house. For instance, many news reported that in India people who are suffering from insufficient space to build home , are provide numerous apartment and flats in the heart of the city to reduce the unnecessary usage of space, this is a better idea implemented by companies to reduce space.
On the other hand, building of large apartments can cause pollution and high cost more resource consumption. so the price of the flats cannot be affordable to many citizens and needs more resource to complete the project. For example the news reported in Japan especially in the city of Tokyo, that the pollution caused to the construction of large building has leads to many health issues related breathing to the citizens who leaves near the construction site. Health is important than home.
To conclude, it is the best way to provide enough homes in large cities to build tall apartment blocks. In my opinion, rather than providing buildings for peoples , there are many other problems related to this, increase in deforestation can lead to unavailability of sufficient resources.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the pros and cons of tall apartment blocks. However, the position is inconsistent; the introduction states a partial agreement, but the conclusion seems to lean towards the idea that there are too many negative consequences, creating a lack of clarity. While ideas are presented, they are often under-developed. For instance, the mention of pollution in Tokyo is a relevant example, but the argument that 'health is more important than home' is not fully linked back to the core question of whether tall buildings are the 'best' way to provide housing. To improve, ensure your position remains clear throughout and provide more detailed explanations for your supporting points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used correctly, but transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. For example, the jump from discussing financial backwardness to government plans lacks a smooth logical connector. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the conclusion where the link between deforestation and the prompt is not explicitly explained. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'financial backward' instead of 'financially disadvantaged' and 'leaves near' instead of 'lives near'. Some phrases are repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'reduce the space'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of word-choice errors limit the score. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more academic synonyms for common words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('each and every countries are', 'flat are design'), article usage, and pluralization ('many news reported'). There are also errors in sentence construction, such as 'the pollution caused to the construction... has leads to'. While the meaning is usually discernible, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency would be highly beneficial.
