Student answer (Band 5.0)
Generally now a days the trend of apartments is very common especially in the big and populated cities like in Lahore Karachi ETC. the most convenient way to provide shelter to everyone there should be tall apartment blocks ,I am partially agree with this statement because of various reasons , In forthcoming paragraph i shall explain my percpective and experience.
The dominant reason to build tall buildings to provide small homes to everyone is that as we observed that in big cities there is lot of inhabitants most of the people move to that cities for better opportunities like health , education, and job ETC, the tall building proves to be very beneficial because these are so cheap as compared to private house and everyone can afford it ,Moreover the ventilation system is much better there people feel comfortable .However in the large areas compartments numerous people live other gather it is the best way to manage the land that leads to reduction in land crisis for Government .
On the other hand my experience was very worst while living in apartments .In there tall buildings people feel less privacy even neighbors can listen every thing that happen in your apartments ,these are so congested old aged people sometime feel suffocation .for instance when I was living in a large building a young boy jumped from that building to attempt the suicide .
To sum up I firmly believe that there are number of benefits of apartments you experience different things while living number of people but sometime individual face the difficulty to reach the elevated point like they can face to cross the numerous stares , most of the time elevator issue when there is no electricity .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide reasons for your position, such as affordability and land management, the arguments are somewhat superficial. The example regarding the suicide is not effectively linked to the broader argument about housing policy, making it feel anecdotal rather than analytical. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a clear, well-developed point that directly supports your stance. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and introduces new points (elevator issues) that were not previously discussed, which weakens the overall structure of your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often interrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of smooth transitions. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'On the other hand', the connection between sentences is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the benefits of ventilation and the management of land is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'in there tall buildings', which makes the text harder to follow. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'big', 'good', and 'cheap'. There are also some instances of incorrect word choice or awkward phrasing, such as 'compartments' to describe apartments and 'elevated point' to describe high floors. Furthermore, there are minor errors in word formation, such as 'percpective' and 'stares' (instead of stairs). To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in the correct context, such as 'high-rise developments' instead of 'tall buildings'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there is lot of inhabitants'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and incorrect capitalization. The sentence 'I am partially agree' is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'I partially agree'. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and punctuation.
