Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention population growth and the benefits of city living, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'fresh air' at height is not fully supported or logically connected to the main argument of solving housing shortages. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or logical reasoning regarding urban planning, infrastructure, or sustainability to support your position more effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'The Primary reason' and 'Secondrary' are used to signal points, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, making the flow of ideas feel disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'eassy' for 'easy', 'acseess' for 'access', 'appartment' for 'apartment', and 'eassy' for 'essay'. Furthermore, word choice is often imprecise, such as using 'privet residential' instead of 'private residence'. To improve, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and expanding your vocabulary to include more precise collocations related to urban development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'need of living house increases'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. Complex sentence structures are attempted but often contain errors, such as 'this is how people get inspired to live in city where city becoming Congested.' You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex structures.
