Student answer (Band 5.0)
In today's world, find homes in big cities are quite tough. some people believe that build tall apartment instead of flat are quite save lands while others believe that this does not a good idea. I believe that tall apartment is best option to provide homes in conjugated and Big cities.
In today's world, Finding homes in big cities has become increasingly important issue. Instead of buying more and more homes they have to build step by step apartment which save land so other people also buy it. moreover, Tall apartment give them space as well as save money so everyone easily find a place for living. with the rapid development of society, building multiple blocks has gained considerable in huge cities. I personally believe that this is a good idea for everyone who lives in extensive cities.
Furthermore, In this modern era, everyone wants a sufficient space home because of that some people will not be able to buy homes in broad cities. For example, rich people easily buy homes in cities but that does not possible for others. I think people and government both have to build tall apartment blocks then build enough space home. For Example many people Nowadays consider Big and tall Building.
In conclusion, although there are some disadvantages, the advantages are far more significant. Build a Stepped apartment can save large amount of land which is necessary to the big cities. For my opinion, Build tall apartment is god way to give enough homes in big cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention land saving and affordability, these points are not fully extended or supported with specific, logical reasoning. The arguments remain somewhat superficial, and the essay lacks a deep exploration of the complexities involved in urban planning or housing. To improve, focus on providing concrete examples or explaining the causal link between building height and housing affordability more clearly. The response meets the minimum length requirement, but the depth of content is insufficient for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are sometimes applied mechanically or inappropriately. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the pronoun 'they' lacks a clear antecedent. The flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors, which makes the logical connection between ideas difficult to follow at times. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'big', 'good', and 'homes'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'conjugated cities' (likely meaning 'congested') and 'stepped apartment'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should work on using a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary related to urban development and housing, and focus on using words in their correct context. Avoid repeating the same phrases throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'find homes... are quite tough'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'this does not a good idea'). The range of grammatical structures is very limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. Attempts at more complex structures often result in errors, such as 'because of that some people will not be able to buy homes'. To improve, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction, verb tenses, and the correct use of prepositions and articles before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
