Student answer (Band 5.0)
According to my point of view I agreed with this statement because in large cities people are so crowded and less homes. Many people became homeless, they lived on the streets or the small huts although if they have enough money to build their own home.
Instead of large homes if we work on apartment having different blocks are more useful. For progress in our work we firstly need to do surveys because through this we came to know about people needs and also their thoughts.
Not all apartments would be same instead of this we have to make different size apartments in different place. Single room apartments should also be build in case any oversees came to stay alone or students how came to study and want a separate apartment.
Apartments are also useful for those who cannot afford expensive home or for those who works for the country. Example; solders they don't have their own home town. They always had to adjust for the from city to city. In this case apartments are great for use. no tension of shifting or buying new house. They just post their for few months or years.
Another example is of students who came to study in your city they just need one or two room apartments where they have their privacy and personal kitchen or bathroom to use. Some students cannot adjust in their hostel because most of the hostels do not gave all rights to students that's why they prefer apartments rather than the hostels.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the benefits for students and soldiers, the arguments lack depth and academic rigor. The essay tends to rely on personal observations rather than broader societal or urban planning perspectives. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points by discussing factors like land efficiency, infrastructure, or environmental impact, rather than focusing primarily on individual housing needs. The response is somewhat repetitive and lacks a formal conclusion to summarize your main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, 'Instead of large homes if we work on apartment' and 'In this case' are used, but the transitions between ideas are often abrupt. The logical progression is hindered by short, choppy sentences and a lack of sophisticated linking words. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the transition between the general need for surveys and the specific mention of soldiers. Improving the use of transition signals would significantly enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'homes', 'apartments', and 'people'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'oversees' (likely meaning 'overseas students'), 'solders' (spelling error for 'soldiers'), and 'no tension of shifting'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly difficult to grasp. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to urban development, such as 'high-density housing', 'urban sprawl', 'infrastructure', and 'accommodate'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar contains frequent errors that impact the clarity of the writing. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('students how came', 'most of the hostels do not gave'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple, and attempts at more complex structures often result in grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'they lived on the streets or the small huts although if they have enough money'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of semicolons and commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and pluralization.
