Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. The arguments regarding economic benefits and job stability are vague and lack specific, logical support. For instance, the claim that tall buildings 'safe our material and resources' is not clearly explained. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the depth of the argument. To improve, you should provide more concrete examples and ensure that each paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Towards the jobs and life stability it also play a key role in it.' The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, and the connection between sentences is not always logical. While there is an attempt to use transition words like 'To begin with' and 'To conclude,' the overall flow is hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of sophisticated linking words. Improving the variety and precision of your cohesive devices will help your ideas connect more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'leaf their places' (likely meaning 'leave') and 'avoid different expensive' (likely meaning 'expenses'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express nuanced arguments, relying on basic terms like 'good' or 'better' rather than more precise academic alternatives. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and using a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and economics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'the limited housing become' and 'the apartment help'. Additionally, sentence structures are often simplistic or fragmented, and there are errors in article usage and pluralization (e.g., 'metropolises cities'). While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, they are often grammatically incorrect, which reduces the overall clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and singular/plural agreement.
