Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, reaching only 87 words. Because the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, it fails to develop a coherent argument or address the prompt's requirements fully. The position is stated in the introduction, but there is no substantive development of ideas or supporting evidence. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words, provide a clear structure with distinct body paragraphs, and fully explore your arguments with relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text lacks a clear logical progression due to its incomplete nature. While there is a basic attempt at paragraphing, the abrupt ending prevents the development of a cohesive argument. Cohesive devices are minimal and the flow between sentences is disjointed. To improve, focus on using transition words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to link your ideas, and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting details.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, such as the repeated use of 'big' and 'problems'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'build big apartment blocks' instead of 'building large apartment blocks' and 'large crowed of people' instead of 'large crowds'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. You should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and synonyms to avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. Examples include 'due to over population' (missing article), 'people face problems to find place' (incorrect preposition/article usage), and 'when the apartments build' (incorrect passive voice). Sentence structures are simple and often lack correct punctuation. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
