Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 132 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly, the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. For instance, you mention that tall buildings are 'affordable' multiple times without providing any supporting evidence or logical explanation. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples, counter-arguments, and a more detailed analysis of the social or economic implications of high-rise living to meet the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the ideas within the paragraphs are disjointed and lack logical progression. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, such as the abrupt transition 'However' which does not logically contrast with the previous sentence. The repetition of phrases like 'a single room, a single bathroom' makes the writing feel mechanical. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed main idea.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic words like 'best', 'tall', and 'affordable'. There are also issues with word choice and spelling, such as 'aggree' (agree), 'buidings' (buildings), and 'conculsion' (conclusion). The phrase 'clear air' is used incorrectly in the context of urban planning. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling. Focus on learning collocations related to urban development, such as 'urban density' or 'sustainable infrastructure'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'tall buildings gives'), punctuation (missing spaces after commas), and sentence structure (e.g., 'Tall buildings such as skyscraper is best'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, practice using complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, and pay closer attention to basic subject-verb agreement and pluralization rules.
