Student answer (Band 5.5)

Civilization and developing nation increases the risk of covering more land area while eradicating the natural land features and to tackle from this situation building tall heighted apartment block can reduce the area and it provides enough spaces for home in large offer. This essay will elaborate the reason behind my agreement to this statement.

Nowadays, civilization and modernization taking place throughout the world and continuous construction development is on the peak. Simultaneously, people obsessed with them. The houses and apartments buying homes and properties. Consequently, that matter result in deforestation and eradication of the natural habitat. For instance, if government introduces the policy to make houses for 100 families people then rather than constructing 100 houses adjacently, they can be made up to an apartment and its block. The major benefit of making an apartment is there is enough space and there are more houses in a small area covered by land.

However, the people who are economical rich, they would prefer to buy a bunglow and to complete their dream of a big house. To this every a huge area for few people. In addition to that metropolitan cities where there are more opportunities of jobs and facilities, apartment plays a smart role in lowering the traffic, availability of the land for the parks and natural places can be conserved as well.

In a conclusion, my agreement with this statement was higher because of the conservation of the land, building more areas available, also make move space available for the people. As in addition apartment has blocks where many people can leave together so they can celebrate the festivals and it is the best way for the social connectivity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention land conservation and social connectivity, the arguments are often repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'social connectivity' in the conclusion is introduced too late and is not supported by evidence. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-explained reason, such as urban density efficiency or infrastructure sustainability, rather than restating the same points about land usage. The response is generally relevant, but the lack of cohesive development prevents it from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While you use some cohesive devices like 'consequently' and 'in addition', they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a way that makes the flow mechanical. The referencing is occasionally confusing, such as in the second paragraph where the link between 'people obsessed with them' and the following sentences is unclear. To improve, focus on using transition words that logically connect your ideas rather than just starting sentences with them. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'tall heighted apartment block', 'economical rich', and 'make move space available'. These errors occasionally impede the flow of your argument. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations. To improve, try to learn phrases in context rather than individual words. For example, instead of 'economical rich', use 'wealthy individuals' or 'affluent citizens'. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary will help you express your ideas more naturally and precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently make errors in subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence construction. For example, 'civilization and developing nation increases' should be 'civilization and development increase', and 'apartment plays a smart role' should be 'apartments play a significant role'. These errors are frequent and sometimes make it difficult for the reader to follow your meaning. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structure and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for achieving a higher score.
