Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The essay addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention affordability, security, and proximity to amenities, these points are presented as a list of assertions rather than fully developed arguments. The explanation for why tall buildings are the 'best' way is somewhat superficial, and the supporting examples (e.g., immigrants in Canada) are vague and lack depth. To improve, you should focus on explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments, providing more specific reasoning to support your stance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of effective cohesive devices. Transitions like 'to commence with' and 'furthermore' are used, but the internal structure of sentences is often disjointed, making it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'those is inter in apartment gate', which obscures the meaning. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence clearly connects to the previous one to create a smoother, more logical argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'big cities', 'homes', and 'people'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'person homes' instead of 'private residences' and 'sattlement' instead of 'settlement'. Some phrases are non-standard, such as 'gets butter opportunities', which hinders clarity. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your vocabulary to include more precise, academic terminology related to urban planning and housing, and pay closer attention to correct word forms and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'apartment blocks are build'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting more complex constructions, such as 'people are lived in apartment'. Punctuation is also problematic, with spaces before commas and inconsistent capitalization. To improve, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
