Student answer (Band 6.0)
A lot of thought has been about how to create enough spaces for citizens to live in the larger cities. Many people believe that the appropriate way to give enough homes to citizens in urban areas is to construct high-rise apartment buildings. In my perspective I firmly agreed with this statement because it allows more people from the rural areas to stay with their family members in the cities and also create a sense of unity in the community.
One of the main reasons why I agreed with this statement is that it gives confidence to rural residence to visit their love ones in the city. A lot of individuals who live in the countryside wanted to pay visit to their family members who live in the city center but they often finds it difficult to come because of accommodation issues. Constructing high-rise buildings due to the lack of lands in the city will encourage residents to come for holidays or vacations in the urban areas. As a result it will allows many people to come to the city which will serve as catalyst to develop a strong sense of commitment among family members. For instance an extended family might stay together in the urban areas due to the availability proper accommodations.
Another reasons for supporting this statement is that it promotes unity between community members. This is largely because building a high-rise apartments blocks might accommodate different people with different culture, language, or attitudes living in the same apartment blocks. These individuals will live together and share things in common which will promote unity and ones among them. As a result, most of them will become friends and dwell in the same path of success which will mitigate loneliness and promotes connectivity among them.
In conclusion, although most cities around the world are congested with people with limited space of constructing building to accommodate citizens. The best option is to construct a lot of tall apartments blocks which will facilitate unity and openess

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of high-rise buildings. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and occasionally tangential. For instance, the argument that high-rise buildings help rural residents visit family is not a primary solution to urban housing shortages; it is a secondary social benefit. The second point regarding community unity is more relevant but remains somewhat generic. To reach a higher band, you should focus on more direct arguments, such as land-use efficiency, infrastructure sustainability, or economic benefits of high-density living, rather than focusing on family visits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'One of the main reasons,' 'Another reasons,' and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'dwell in the same path of success.' Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the premise (lack of land) and the conclusion (unity) could be more tightly managed to ensure a more sophisticated flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'catalyst,' 'mitigate,' and 'congested.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors. For example, you use 'residence' (a place) instead of 'residents' (people), and 'ones' instead of 'oneness.' Additionally, 'openess' is misspelled. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on accurate word forms and collocations will significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive step. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Another reasons,' 'it will allows'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing ('A lot of thought has been about'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with correct verb tenses and prepositions.
