In this contemporary era, the residential areas are rapidly decreasing along with the increase in population which is creating a global issue. Some individuals believe that the best solution to overcome the limitation of the houses in the mega cities is to establish skyscrapers. I strongly support this statement. This essay will analyse the reasons behind my perspective along with the examples in the subsequent paragraphs.
To commence with, this trend of building tall apartment blocks fosters a society with security and various amenities available at a single place. In this rapid-paced era, most of the people migrating metropolitan cities for the sake of job opportunities and other facilities which has been provided in large cities such as healthcare, education and transport which results in the increased demand of residing areas. To overcome this issue, retail sector has started building large societies with the availability of various types of amenities including swimming pool, gymnastics, schools, playing areas, parks and community halls,. Hence, it is convenient for the citizens to get all kind of services within a specific area.
Moving further, having multiple apartments in a single building leads to saving land areas along with that it solves the issue of insufficient living area. For instance, rather than building big house, one can opt for making vertical buildings with multiple number of flats which provides accommodation to a large number of population and resolves the issue of limited residential areas. Additionally, living in a tall building helps in building connections and people can interact with their society individuals. Therefore, people of all generations specially the oldest and the youngest one, do not feel isolated and get opportunity to make new friends and relations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding space efficiency and the provision of amenities are relevant and well-supported. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the conclusion, which restates the points without adding depth. To reach a higher band, you should aim to explore the potential drawbacks of high-rise living (such as social isolation or infrastructure strain) to provide a more balanced and nuanced discussion, even if you ultimately support the statement. The ideas are generally well-extended, but the analysis could be more sophisticated to demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moving further', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing and punctuation, such as the unnecessary comma before the period in the second paragraph ('community halls,.'). The progression of ideas is generally smooth, but the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing between sentences is more precise.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary era', 'metropolitan', and 'vertical buildings'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'retail sector has started building' is not the most accurate way to describe property development, and 'society individuals' is an awkward phrasing. You also rely on some repetitive vocabulary, such as 'issue' and 'area'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication, rather than relying on general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist. For instance, 'most of the people migrating metropolitan cities' is missing a preposition ('to'), and 'which has been provided' should be 'which are provided'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'the oldest and the youngest one'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring grammatical accuracy will help improve this score.
