Student answer (Band 6.0)
In large cities, constructing high rise housing blocks can serve as a practical solution for provision of housing settlements. While, I agree this alternative will help solve the issue, but I believe construction alone would not completely cater the issue. This essay will cover both the perspectives along with relevant example and a logical solution.
Concerns related to housing provision is genuine, and development of tall apartment blocks can be considered as an alternative. Firstly, high rise housing blocks can provide more living space, because of its elongated structure. This, in turn, will provide a safe and collaborative space for people to live. Furthermore, It will significantly serve as a highly considerable option for families with kids. It will not be an affordable choice, but a suitable and secured option as well.
On the other hand, while it would provide citizens with a livelihood, there are numerous factors that are worth considering as well. To begin with, government and authorities must lay out a clear and organised plan, since, it is important to make optimised usage of the area available. For example, a barren land that is no more in use can be considered for housing purpose. Additionally, law enforcement must also be revised. Introduction of a law stating "one family - one house" would be a smart approach towards the concern.
In conclusion, both the perspectives hold valid reasonings, but I believe just the construction of tall apartments would not solve the purpose. Additional measures like, optimised utilisation of resources should also be taken into account while addressing this concern related to housing provision in large cities and localities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you acknowledge the benefits of high-rise buildings, the arguments regarding 'living space' and 'families with kids' are not fully extended or supported with specific evidence. Furthermore, the second body paragraph shifts focus toward government planning and 'one family-one house' policies, which are only tangentially related to the core question of whether tall buildings are the 'best' way to provide homes. To improve, ensure that every point directly supports your stance on the effectiveness of high-rise construction compared to other potential solutions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand' to link your points. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the connection between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The concluding paragraph summarizes the main points well, but the overall flow would benefit from more sophisticated linking words that show a deeper relationship between the arguments presented.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'provision', 'optimised', and 'barren land'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'cater the issue' (should be 'cater to the issue' or 'address the issue') and 'provide citizens with a livelihood' (which is slightly off-topic, as the prompt is about housing, not employment). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as the comma splice in the first sentence ('While, I agree...'), the incorrect use of 'but' after 'While', and the misuse of articles ('a barren land'). Additionally, there is a minor punctuation error with the placement of the quotation marks and commas. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focus on mastering basic sentence structure and punctuation rules.
