Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays in it is happening in the whole world that people start to build high building of department blocks just not in cities it also become trend in rural areas.I disagree with this statement why i am unlike this i will explain in further.
firstly ,almost all the building are very large either it is commercial or residential buildings.
In commercial building 200 to 500 shops are situated same like in residential buildings around about 200 to 300 families are living on rent. The owner of that buildings purpose is that on a small area of their land they build high buildings and gave it on rent and do earning in millions. But in my point of view it is not good idea of earning money .It is just game with others lives. In recently in Karachi Pakistan. It was very big building there were living many families and also outlive of manty people were in this building .All the shops were open and everybody was in there home suddenly, the fire spreed in the whole building due to unknown reason. In few time the fire caught out each and everything .There were loss of many people lives and outlive.Same like natural disaster also can destory everthing thats why i don't like high buildings in cities or villages.
Secondly, i agree on some point of view that high buildings provide outlive of many people .On small piece of land owners build a tall building and give outlive to others and himself also and also improve economy of their country .
To conclude, if tall building have pros side by side it also have cons.I should give advice that it is not good to build a 500 or 800 department block in a one building. It should be less than 50.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the statement, though the development of ideas is inconsistent. The argument regarding safety concerns in high-rise buildings is relevant, but the supporting example from Karachi is somewhat vague and lacks sufficient detail to fully persuade the reader. Furthermore, the second body paragraph introduces a contradictory point that undermines the initial stance without effectively reconciling it. The conclusion offers a personal recommendation rather than a summary of the main arguments. To improve, you should focus on developing two or three strong, distinct arguments that support your main position throughout the essay, ensuring that each point is clearly explained and logically connected to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by unclear transitions and awkward phrasing. While some basic cohesive devices like 'firstly' and 'to conclude' are used, they are often followed by sentences that do not flow naturally from the previous ones. The referencing is sometimes confusing, such as the use of 'outlive' to mean 'housing' or 'accommodation', which makes the relationship between ideas difficult to follow. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence builds logically upon the one before it, creating a smoother reading experience.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There is a heavy reliance on basic, repetitive words, and several instances of word-choice errors, such as using 'outlive' instead of 'housing' or 'accommodation', and 'department block' instead of 'apartment block'. These errors suggest a lack of familiarity with collocations and appropriate academic terminology. To reach a higher band, you should work on expanding your vocabulary to include more precise terms related to urban planning and housing, and practice using these words in their correct context to avoid confusion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often make the text difficult to understand. There are significant issues with sentence structure, including run-on sentences, missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'the fire spreed' instead of 'spread'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with little evidence of complex grammatical forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and learning how to combine simple sentences into more complex ones using appropriate conjunctions and relative clauses.
