Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, there is debate going on about building big flats for accommodation in larger urban centers. As far as i am concerned, this will be a positive development to establishing massive apartment blocks because huge population moves towards urban areas for jobs and better education. This essay will discuss in details in body paragraph and reach on conclusion.

There are several reasons that why i support to build tall Condominium in big cities. Firstly, due to advanced technology and modern world most learners, employers, businessmen, and others people moving towards cities for the purpose of education, work, earning, and better life style. For example in cities there are a lot of opportunities for students and workers like AI departments are opens, many malls and shops are built, well maintained hospitals are there and so many things are there in metropolises. However, due to increase in population urban people faces many challenges for instance major difficulty is accommodation because of few homes people find hard to live in city life. So government should provide enough houses by constructing large apartment blocks for citizens.

On the other hand, there are also several benefits building tall flats. firstly, in urban there is small space and population is at peak. In this way built massive apartments saves a lot of space for other constructions. Secondly, more people can benefit from city life such as modern life style, advanced technology, access to internet, and so many other things which helps people to live better life. Furthermore, it also saves individuals money and relief from stress by renting affordable living area.

In conclusion, I firmly believe construction of tall flats will save many things such as money, space, and time. On the other hand, it gives more space for citizens to live in urban areas in a affordable budget. Many people can experiencing modern life and grab opportunities for work and education. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While you mention reasons for supporting tall apartment blocks, such as space efficiency and urban opportunities, the arguments are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully explored. For instance, the discussion on 'modern life' is mentioned in both the second and third paragraphs without adding new insights. To reach a higher band, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point that directly relates to the prompt, rather than repeating similar benefits across different sections.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. For example, the sentence 'This essay will discuss in details in body paragraph and reach on conclusion' is unnecessary and does not contribute to the flow of ideas. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the vague use of 'many things' in the conclusion. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big', 'many', and 'things' repeatedly. While you attempt some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'metropolises' and 'accommodation', there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'building big flats' instead of 'constructing high-rise buildings' and 'population is at peak' instead of 'population density is high'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('urban people faces'), missing articles ('in urban there is small space'), and incorrect verb forms ('support to build', 'can experiencing'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
